Similar Holmside locos which run on Bentley Miniature Railway
Holmside was a 0-6-0 saddle tank locomotive with outside cylinders and inside Stephenson link motion that used to work for the National Coal Board. Built in 1901 by Chapman and Furneaux and worked all its life between Craghead and Morrison Busty Collieries, Anfield Plain, Durham, until scrapped in 1962. The full size engine was glossy black with red lining. The one eighth 7 1/4" gauge model is painted maroon and was completed and first steamed for its boiler certificate in 2008.
