70047 - Lady of the Lake (Britannia)
British Railways class 7000 “Britannia” was designed and built by Robert Riddles. 55 of the class were built between 1951 and 1954, taking a BR livery.
This 7 1/4 model of the Britannia class, numbered 70047 was one of only a couple of Britannia class members not to be named. The builder, John Butt, named the locomotive “Lady of the lake”
This locomotive first ran at Bentley in 2023 and has done a couple of events and weekends, we look forward to seeing it appear more often in 2024.
